II. Product Processing Technology

The classification of hot-melt adhesive films and hot-melt adhesive mesh films is basically similar, yet their processing techniques are entirely different. We can see the differences by examining their respective requirements for the production environment: Hot-melt adhesive films do not have particularly high demands on the airtightness of the production environment; in contrast, hot-melt adhesive mesh films have much stricter requirements for the production environment. Variations in workshop temperature, humidity, air pressure, and other factors can significantly affect product processing. Therefore, the fundamental requirement for a hot-melt adhesive mesh film processing workshop is a stable, constant-temperature environment!

III. Processing and Manufacturing Equipment

The processes involved are different, so naturally the equipment required for processing is also different. The production line for hot-melt adhesive mesh films is still very expensive!

IV. Regarding the product's suitability

Thermoplastic adhesive films and thermoplastic adhesive mesh films essentially maintain the same functionality, and in fact, they can often be used interchangeably in the lamination of many products. So, whether to use a thermoplastic adhesive film to replace a thermoplastic adhesive mesh film, or vice versa, ultimately depends on which factors the purchaser prioritizes in their selection criteria.

In fact, there are still some differences between the two in terms of applicability. For instance, when it comes to single-sided lamination of certain products, hot-melt adhesive films are more commonly used. A typical example is the use of hot-melt adhesive films as backing adhesives for seamless wall coverings. The hot-melt adhesive film is applied to the back side of the seamless wall covering, and during installation, a heat gun is used to heat the film, causing it to melt and develop adhesive properties, thereby enabling the wall covering to be securely affixed.

V. From the perspective of environmental performance

From an environmental perspective, hot-melt adhesive films and hot-melt adhesive mesh films differ in their environmental performance, with hot-melt adhesive mesh films exhibiting better environmental characteristics. This difference stems from the distinct processing techniques used for each type.

VI. Regarding pricing

Due to fluctuations in the raw materials market, prices of hot melt adhesive films and hot melt adhesive mesh films have generally been rising. However, hot melt adhesive films tend to be slightly more expensive than hot melt adhesive mesh films—especially those with release liners, which have seen a particularly significant price increase. In fact, the cost of the release liner alone has already exceeded the price of the hot melt adhesive mesh film!
