The production process and methods for TPU-composite fabrics: There are two main approaches to manufacturing TPU-composite fabrics. One is called "post-application": First, a TPU film is produced, and then it is bonded to the fabric using adhesive. The other approach is called "in-line compounding": Adhesive is either applied directly onto the fabric or left unapplied, and the TPU is then directly extruded onto the fabric to create a TPU-composite fabric or a mesh-backed fabric.

The applications of TPU composite fabrics include: inflatable life jackets, dive BC jackets, life rafts, inflatable boats, inflatable tents, military self-inflating air mattresses, massage air cushions, medical pressure-relief mattresses, and professional waterproof backpacks.
Generally, factories specializing in back-lamination processing are relatively small in scale. There are many such small-scale factories across China, most of which purchase TPU films from external film manufacturers and simply carry out the gluing and laminating process themselves. The back-lamination process involves subjecting the TPU film to high temperature and high pressure once again; if process controls are inadequate, this can damage the film, even causing tiny pinholes.
Online lamination involves directly laminating a fluid-like TPU film onto the fabric in one step, thereby avoiding damage to the film and ensuring a beautifully shaped surface with a variety of textured patterns. However, this lamination method requires significant equipment investment and high technical expertise.
