2. TPU polyether material: This material is odorless and environmentally friendly, featuring high abrasion resistance, excellent tear resistance, tensile strength, and peel resistance. It boasts superior air tightness, exceptional toughness, and is resistant to yellowing. It’s environmentally safe, non-toxic, durable, highly cold-resistant, and unaffected by weather conditions—retaining good elasticity even at temperatures as low as -35°C. It’s particularly well-suited for use in inflatable water recreational products.
The outstanding characteristics of TPU materials include excellent wear resistance, exceptional ozone resistance, high hardness, high strength, good elasticity, and resistance to low temperatures. They also exhibit excellent resistance to oils, chemicals, and environmental factors. In humid environments, polyether-based esters demonstrate far superior hydrolytic stability compared to polyester-based esters.
The TPU elastomer is non-toxic and odorless, soluble in solvents such as acetone-methanol mixture, cyclohexanone, tetrahydrofuran, dioxane, and dimethylformamide. It is also soluble in mixed solvents composed of toluene, ethyl acetate, methyl ethyl ketone, and acetone at appropriate ratios, exhibiting a colorless and transparent appearance and demonstrating excellent storage stability.
Depending on the hydroxyl component used, they can be classified into two major types: polyester-based and polyether-based. They can be used to manufacture plastic products, wear-resistant synthetic rubber products, synthetic fibers, rigid and flexible foam plastics, adhesives, and coatings, among others.
